Make a Difference at Ardmaine Care Home. Located just minutes from the heart of Newry, Ardmaine Care Home is a warm, welcoming environment where compassionate care comes first. Our home features two dedicated units: General Nursing and Dementia Nursing, each designed to provide exceptional support tailored to individual needs. We care for older adults and those living with a range of conditions, including Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Stroke, Epilepsy, Visual Impairments, and Challenging Behaviours. Our services also include End of Life Care and Respite Support. The Role: This role is for 36 hours per week. At Healthcare Ireland, our Housekeeper role is essential in our mission to provide excellent care. Responsible for the environment of the Home, the Housekeeper leads the domestic and laundry teams in contributing to the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the Home is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times. The Housekeeper works closely with the Home Manager, care teams and residents, building trusting relationships to create a comfortable environment where our residents feel safe and cared for. From ensuring that rooms are clean to tidying communal areas, every task contributes to the value that we add to the lives of our residents.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform a variety of tasks throughout the Home, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning surfaces in resident rooms, communal areas and offices; adhering to cleaning and laundry schedules as required.
- Manage the domestic team to guarantee that all areas of the Home, including bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas and hallways, are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Identify and report any damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management.
- Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule.
- Responsible for the storage of cleaning products, ensuring they meet COSHH regulations and all cleaning machinery and equipment are used properly and stored safely.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
