Working as part of the engineering team you will contribute to the delivery of an effective, proactive and customer-driven service to water treatment plants and pumping stations. Work will vary between planned maintenance and reactive maintenance, which may require lone working as well as working in a team depending on the job. You will start the working day from home, travelling directly to any site as required to carry out work. Work will be issued on electronic devices running our work management software.

Location: Mobile NI

Hours per week: Mon-Fri, 40 hours

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Multi-skilled approach to carry out reactive and planned maintenance as well as some minor installations on water, waste water and network water sites.
  • Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task.
  • Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities.
  • Liaise closely with our control hub to ensure efficient response to all works.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date.
  • Pro-actively identify and report follow-on works.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards.
  • Undertake a range of electrical works including planned maintenance, fault finding, work on motors, electrical panels, lighting, variable speed drives, UPS systems, instrumentation and process equipment.
  • Assist any other trade as required.
  • Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis, representing the Company professionally.
  • Work unsupervised in a large geographical area and prioritise workload.
  • Provide regular out of hours cover by participating in an on-call rota.

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised Electrical apprenticeship.
  • Current IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • 12 months experience in providing call out services.
  • Full UK Driver's License.

Desirable Criteria:

  • 12 months experience in planned and reactive maintenance activities in the water industry.
  • Experience working around confined spaces.
  • Registered CSCS/CSR Card (or equivalent).
  • COSHH training.
  • Confined space training.
  • High Voltage awareness training.
  • National Water Hygiene card holder.
  • Manual Handling training.
  • Experience assisting with various trades/types of maintenance on water and waste water sites.
