Your new company Hays are working in partnership with one of the UK's largest producers of precast concrete products based in Northern Ireland. The client has expanded its operations across Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England, providing innovative concrete solutions for various market sectors. They are known for their cutting-edge products and a fast-track offsite build system ideal for apartments, student accommodations, and social housing. These innovations have positioned them at the forefront of the construction industry, contributing to numerous residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Your new role: The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the production of precast concrete structures. Your expertise will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyse precast concrete structures for various construction projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Conduct structural calculations and prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Oversee the production process to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the production team.

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful for the Structural Engineering role, candidates should hold a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and have at least 2 years of structural engineering experience in the construction industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, and familiarity with software like Robot, Tedds, Revit and other structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, or similar) is highly advantageous. Applicants must be customer-focused with strong communication skills. Ideally, you must have precast experience and strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, BS EN).
