Are you an experienced Project Manager from an engineering or manufacturing environment looking for your next challenge? Can you Lead Projects, Drive Innovation, and Deliver Excellence? If so, this may be the role for you.

At FAST Technologies, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. We are a dynamic, growing business that designs and builds custom industrial automation, robotics, and chemical delivery systems for global businesses. We pride ourselves on cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, and high-energy work environment where everyone can thrive. We are looking for a passionate, organized, and people-centric Project Manager to join our team and help us shape and develop our workplace culture.

The Role: As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the end-to-end manufacturing and resource lifecycle for all new projects from initial customer consultations through to final delivery and site acceptance testing (SAT). Working closely with engineering specialists, the automation team, and the mechanical build team, you will define project roadmaps and execute the seamless transition of new systems from design and build to customer approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution & Lifecycle Management: Develop, facilitate, and drive the design and build phases of custom machinery, production lines, and robotic cells to meet strict timelines and exceed customer expectations.
  • Methodology & Frameworks: Apply formal project management tools and team collaboration techniques to manage projects through the entire lifecycle, ensuring deliverables align with agreed project scopes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with senior stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and ensuring cross-functional inputs remain on schedule.
  • Risk Mitigation & Gateways: Champion our 'Design for Delivery' approach by scheduling and facilitating formal design review gates. Enable engineering and operational teams to validate designs, identify risks, and confirm production readiness early.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage overarching project financial elements, including budget allocation, cost control, tracking variances/exceptions, and continuous financial monitoring.
  • Data & Performance Metrics: Collate, analyse, and present project data in a clear, meaningful format using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to demonstrate business value.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Delegate tasks effectively to drive projects to completion. Collaboratively manage team expectations and autonomously troubleshoot issues, with support from the Automation Team Manager and department leads as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery processes.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience managing complex engineering, manufacturing, or implementation projects.
  • Education/Background: A strong background in engineering or technical management to effectively comprehend all multidisciplinary elements of the projects.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to orchestrate, prioritize, and balance multiple high-stakes activities simultaneously.
  • Tools: Proficiency with standard Project Management software (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, technical writing, and documentation skills, with a proven track record of maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A relevant degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing qualifications.

What We Offer: In return for your expertise, FAST Technologies offers the opportunity to work within a highly progressive, innovative organization experiencing rapid global growth. Our client base includes some of the world's most successful technology-driven companies and manufacturing leaders. We provide the autonomy to manage your own workload, backed by a friendly, collaborative, and supportive team dedicated to your professional development. FAST operates a four-day working week, providing employees with an improved work-life balance.
