Staffline Recruitment are currently working in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Council recruiting for Mechanical Sweeper Drivers based in Various Locations.

Hours of work: 37 hrs per week

Hourly Rate: 1-12 weeks £13.15, 13 weeks + £14.13

Locations: Coleraine / Ballymoney / Limavady and Ballycastle

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the daily/weekly completion of specific work schedules and driving of specified Council vehicles in connection with Street Cleansing services within any given area of the Borough.
  • Responsible for the safe, legal and efficient operation of specified vehicles to include adherence to the appropriate driving guidelines, legislation and appropriate codes of practice.
  • Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Criteria:
  • A full, current LGV driving licence Category C or C+E which enables you to drive in the UK.
  • A full current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification.
  • Demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of 2 years' experience to include:
    • Driving a Category C or C+E vehicle in a commercial or public sector environment.
    • Dealing directly with members of the public, in person.
    • Previous experience of keeping simple records.
    • Previous experience instructing staff.
  • Applicants must undertake a minimum of 35 hours driver CPC training during a five-year period to maintain their entitlement to drive.
