Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Fleet Coordinator to join their growing team operating across Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all vehicles and plant remain fully compliant, roadworthy, and operational in accordance with Northern Ireland transport legislation and company procedures and will be responsible for a fleet consisting of:
- 15+ Trucks
- 15+ Vans
- 20+ Items of Plant Equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Managing fleet compliance documentation and renewal schedules including:
- Vehicle Tax
- Insurance
- PSV / DOE requirements
- MOT bookings
- Thorough Examination Certificates
- LOLER / PUWER records
- Tachograph and O Licence related records
- Service and inspection documentation
- Monitoring daily vehicle and plant inspections through a tracking/prestart application
- Scheduling preventative maintenance and defect repairs
- Liaising closely with mechanics, workshop staff, and management to ensure fleet uptime
- Maintaining accurate digital maintenance and compliance records
- Coordinating servicing, inspections, breakdowns, and repairs
- Ensuring all drivers complete daily walkaround checks correctly
- Assisting with audits and compliance inspections
- Monitoring fuel usage, fleet performance
- Planning and coordinating daily low loader plant movements and overseeing 8-wheeler logistics to ensure efficient and timely delivery of equipment and materials.
Essential Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in a similar fleet, transport, or plant coordination role
- Strong understanding of fleet compliance and transport regulations within Northern Ireland
- Experience managing maintenance schedules and compliance systems
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Competent in the use of digital fleet management and tracking applications
Preferred Requirements
- Full clean Licence
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle workshop operations
- Experience with plant and transport compliance systems
- CPC qualification advantageous but not essential
