The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and must be hardworking, reliable, and possess excellent communication & inter personal skills. Key responsibilities: We are currently seeking applications for Gully Tanker Operator to carry out drain cleaning of sewers and storm drain operations working for McQuillan Outdoor and will be based in Newry. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the Gully Driver. Their primarily responsibility will be operating a vacuum hose and jetting equipment to clear roadside drains, ensuring they remain unblocked. This job is physically demanding due to the frequent lifting of drain covers. The job role also requires the candidate to work in all weather conditions (suitable PPE to be provided by the employer prior the commencement of the given role). Essential Criteria: Strong communication skills to interact with customers, members of the public and other team members effectively Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines Following all traffic laws and regulations while driving Conducting daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and report any maintenance issues Maintaining accurate records of work carried out Adhering to the Companys policies and procedures regarding transportation, safety, and delivery protocols Desirable criteria: Experience in operating a commercial vehicle such as Jetvac or tanker CSR card in date Experience in traffic management procedures Experience in high pressure water jetting, manual handling, first aid and reversing assistant/banksman duties Closing date for applications is:Monday 15th September 2025.
