About Castlehill:

Castlehill is an innovative temporary accommodation service, based in Dungannon, with 22 self-catering apartments, including 6 suitable for couples. The service offers 24/7 support for homeless people aged 18 and over, working to low threshold and harm reduction principles.

Your new role:

You will be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. You will be the first point of contact for service users, agencies, contractors, visitors, etc., ensuring a warm, professional, welcoming engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the practical needs of service users are met on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support service users with meal preparation, laundry, and general upkeep of their living space.
  • Maintain service user records and provide timely communication relating to service users.
  • Assist case workers in meeting the needs of service users in line with support plans.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are met within the service.
  • Undertake cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Complete health & wellbeing and building checks in line with local procedures.
  • Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, and record keeping.
  • Remain vigilant to IT and cyber risks and comply with IT Security policies.
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, core training, and mentoring of volunteers.
  • Maintain a high quality standard of work in line with Depaul values and ethos.

Essential Criteria:

  • 3 GCSEs A-C to include Maths and English or equivalent
  • 1 year paid relevant work experience or 2 years relevant volunteering experience
  • Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes
  • Good IT skills, including recording client information
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of homelessness and related issues
  • Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to people experiencing homelessness
  • Understanding of Health and Safety standards in service delivery
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Willingness to work within the guidelines of Depaul's vision, mission, and values
