Capex Recruitment are partnering with a well-established construction and civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This organisation delivers a broad range of residential, commercial, education and infrastructure projects, with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and sustainable delivery. The role offers a collaborative working environment with exposure across multiple live schemes.

The Role

  • Working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams, the Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for supporting the financial and contractual management of projects from procurement through to final account.
  • Key responsibilities will include:
    • Procuring and appointing subcontractors across assigned projects
    • Managing subcontractor packages from award through to final account
    • Preparing and submitting valuations, variations and commercial updates
    • Liaising closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to support project delivery
    • Carrying out site visits to monitor progress, quality and cost control
    • Ensuring compliance with internal systems, reporting processes and procedures
    • Supporting general commercial administration and project reporting requirements

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have solid experience within a Quantity Surveying role in construction or civil engineering. Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar QS role
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT / NEC / PWC or similar)
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong organisational ability with good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Full clean driving licence
