Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily support for the weld production teams across three materials - Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
- Support and lead improvement projects including introduction of new jigs/fixtures.
- Lead robotic welding projects - including research, creation of business cases and implementation of cells.
- Help improve current processes and align these with the business' systems strategy.
- Develop quality assurance procedures, standards and specifications to deliver consistency across all areas of the business.
- Build effective working relationships with all colleagues.
- Identify best practice, both internally and externally.
- Create a 'right-first-time' culture with accountability at every level.
- Support the manufacturing operation in solving output and quality issues, adopting a systematic approach.
- Keep informed with manufacturing trends and approaches to developing efficient solutions.
- Support the production team in the resolution of engineering related issues.
- Adhere to our ISO 9001 Quality Management System & ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System.
- Adhere to company health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and tidy works area.
Job Specification - Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Qualities & Attributes required for the post
- Qualified to Degree Level in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline.
- 3 Years experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment - experience within a welding department desirable.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Knowledge of welding processes and best practices.
- Experience with robotics within a production environment.
- Experience with offline robot programming software desirable.
- Ability to manage projects and track through to completion.
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
- A capacity to build effective team working relationships across a wide range of disciplines.
- Excellent organization/analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Persistence and an ability to follow-through and implement sustainable solutions.
- Time management skills and an ability to focus on priorities.
- Flexibility in approach and in working arrangements.
- Administrative and report writing skills.
- An ability to promote and facilitate change.
- Strong IT Skills.
- Ability to use Solidworks or similar 3D modelling software to create jigs and fixtures.
