A well-established and growing property development company is seeking a hands-on Company Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a varied role covering accounts, payroll, and project costing, working closely with senior management and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and profit & loss reports
  • Manage project costings, WIP, and profitability tracking
  • Process payroll, including PAYE and subcontractors
  • Administer employee payroll, holiday pay, and manage starters and leavers
  • Maintain accurate staff holiday records
  • Process invoices and manage both purchase and sales ledgers
  • Handle CIS, VAT returns, and ensure HMRC compliance
  • Manage payments, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor cashflow and support financial reporting
  • Provide general administrative support as required
  • Use Sage for accounting and payroll functions

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar accounts role
  • Working knowledge of Sage, PAYE, VAT, and CIS
  • Experience within construction or property sectors is desirable
  • Highly organised, reliable, and proactive
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
