Associate Trainer responsibility for delivering CSE training.

Location: Across Northern Ireland and Online

Reports to: Early Intervention and Prevention Co-ordinator

Contract type: Associate: Self-Employed

Salary: £50 per session (based on 90-minute sessions)

Mileage for travel will be paid at 45p per mile as per HMRC guidelines.

About Nexus:

Nexus is a Northern Ireland wide charity providing services in supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse and abusive relationships. We deliver a range of bespoke and specialised supports and services including:

• Trauma informed counselling to those affected by sexual assault and trauma from age 8
• Post counselling support and follow-up
• A UK wide 24 hour Domestic and Sexual Abuse Helpline
• Education and Training initiatives delivered to various organisations, professionals, parents, schools and young people on topics such as consent, child sexual exploitation, handling disclosures and healthy relationships.

Job Purpose:

To deliver CSE Workshops on behalf of Nexus ensuring an exceptional standard of facilitation, engagement, and promotion of all Nexus services. This role will involve delivering tailored workshops to a range of single and multi-agency staff, mainly frontline workers who support children and young people.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure workshops are delivered to a consistently high-quality standard
• Record attendance at sessions, collating evaluations, feedback, and all relevant data for reporting
• Complete research to inform the design of up-to-date content and evaluate the CSE programme
• Be experienced in hosting training sessions in various locations
• Maintain active engagement on all safeguarding matters
• Support the Early Intervention and Prevention Team to raise awareness of Nexus services

Personal Specification:

Shows a proven track record having demonstrated the essential skills, abilities, knowledge and/or qualifications required to carry out the duties of this post.

Essential Criteria:

• Category One: 3 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity AND possess a University Degree or a professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing, or Allied Health Professional.
• Category Two: 4 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity AND possess a QCF Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification.
• Category Three: 5 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity.

Proven experience in matters related to safeguarding laws, procedures, and escalation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter, highly motivated and works well under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office to an intermediate level.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to drive to various locations, delivering programmes and courses across Northern Ireland. Applicants must be willing to travel and have access to their own car and hold a clean driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

• 2 years of experience working with Sexual Abuse and Trauma in a professional capacity
• Training qualification (AET, CET, CAVA)
• Experience working in the voluntary sector.
