The Role:
As a Warehouse Team Lead, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of a designated warehouse area, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and high performance across your team. You'll provide clear leadership, support, and direction while maintaining efficient warehouse processes and helping to achieve operational targets. We're looking for an experienced people leader who has a proven ability to motivate, develop, and engage teams to deliver outstanding results. You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence while supporting our vision of being our customer's most valued and trusted business partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of warehouse operatives, including order selectors, loaders, and forklift drivers.
- Plan staff schedules and support workforce planning.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, overtime, and performance levels.
- Coach, support, and develop team members to achieve performance targets.
- Deliver training, inductions, and refresher sessions for warehouse staff.
- Ensure orders are picked accurately and trailers are loaded safely and efficiently.
- Oversee the safe handling and timely dispatch of goods.
- Hold regular team briefings and performance meetings.
- Maintain a clean, organised warehouse in line with food safety and company standards.
- Promote health and safety, providing training and taking corrective action where required.
- Complete warehouse administration, including reports and operational records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and team performance.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Management role or similar supervisory role essential.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse procedures.
- Experience in FMCG environment.
- Fully flexible in relation to start and finish times to meet the needs of the business.
- Experience in change management and continuous improvement.
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
- Exceptional communication skills with experience in building and developing teams.
- High level of motivational and interpersonal skills, maintaining strong close working relationships.
