An established engineering manufacturer is seeking an Experienced Design Engineer to join its in-house engineering function. This is a hands-on, technically focused role working on the design and development of heavy-duty industrial machinery, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • You will play a key role within the design function, taking ownership of mechanical designs for industrial equipment and ensuring solutions are robust, manufacturable and compliant with relevant standards.
  • Design and development of mechanical systems and components for heavy industrial machinery.
  • Creation of 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Supporting new product development and evolution of existing designs.
  • Liaising with production, procurement and project teams to optimise design outcomes.
  • Participation in design reviews, risk assessments and validation activities.
  • Managing engineering documentation and design changes.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.

Criteria

  • Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Competent using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of mechanical design, drawings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
