Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity with a leading engineering manufacturer. An established and growing engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects, influence new product development and play a key role in delivering innovative engineered solutions for customers across the UK and Europe.
Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you'll collaborate with production, procurement and project teams to develop high-quality products from concept through to manufacture.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead mechanical design projects while supporting continuous product improvement and ensuring designs meet the highest engineering and quality standards.
- Lead the design and development of new products and engineering solutions
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and Bills of Materials
- Manage projects from concept through design, manufacture and implementation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications
- Work closely with production teams to improve manufacturability and resolve technical challenges
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding bespoke engineering requirements
- Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support product development and engineering innovation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to developing engineering best practice
About You
You'll be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for solving engineering challenges and delivering practical design solutions. Ideally you'll have:
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Several years' experience in a mechanical design or product development role
- Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX or similar)
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials
- A background in heavy engineering, fabrication, automotive, special-purpose machinery or a similar manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
