The Role As Environmental Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving our ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System.

Working closely with our production departments, you will ensure compliance with environmental legislation, customer requirements and company standards.

You will also be responsible for promoting sustainable practices across the site.

Key Responsibilities Manage the site's ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Coordinate ISO 14001 internal and external audits, ensuring continued certification.

Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licences and regulatory requirements.

Maintain environmental policies, procedures and supporting documentation.

Monitor site environmental performance, including waste, water usage, energy consumption, emissions and recycling.

Analyse environmental data and prepare regular reports for the senior management team.

Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and reduce environmental impact.

Support sustainability initiatives and assist in achieving environmental objectives and targets.

Coordinate environmental improvement projects across the business.

Liaise with regulatory authorities, waste management providers and external auditors as required.

Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

About You Essential Strong organisational and documentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Competent in Microsoft Office.

Good understanding of UK environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

Knowledge of environmental permitting, waste management, water treatment and energy management.

Desirable Experience managing or supporting an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Degree or qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.

Experience of working in a food processing / factory environment.

Membership of a recognised professional body, such as IEMA.
