The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple retail fit-out and refurbishment projects across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established principal contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality retail, commercial, office and industrial projects for major clients throughout Ireland and the UK. The successful candidate will join a growing business with a strong pipeline of secured work, genuine long-term career progression, and the opportunity to take ownership of multiple fast-track projects.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you'll take responsibility for managing several live retail fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with Site Managers, commercial teams, subcontractors and clients, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This opportunity would particularly suit experienced Contracts Managers, Senior Project Managers or Project Managers with a strong background in retail fit-out, shopfitting or fast-track commercial refurbishment.

Working Pattern

  • Based from Kilrea, Co. Londonderry
  • Travel to projects across Ireland
  • Approximately 34 days per week on site
  • Regular overnight stays where required
  • Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Contract Management
    • Manage multiple retail fit-out and refurbishment projects simultaneously.
    • Lead and support Site Managers and project delivery teams.
    • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
    • Oversee project planning, sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
    • Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates.
    • Resolve project issues proactively to maintain programme delivery.
  • Commercial & Operational Management
    • Work closely with the commercial team to monitor costs, variations and profitability.
    • Drive project performance across multiple live contracts.
    • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure company procedures and quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery.
  • Leadership & Quality
    • Provide leadership and support to Site Managers across multiple projects.
    • Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all contracts.
    • Maintain exceptional quality standards from project commencement through to completion.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential
    • Previous experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager, or similar.
    • Strong background delivering retail fit-out, shopfitting or fast-track refurbishment projects.
    • Experience managing multiple live construction projects.
    • Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong organisational and programme management abilities.
    • Full UK/Irish Driving Licence.
    • Happy travelling throughout Ireland and staying away during the week when required.
  • Desirable
    • Main contractor experience.
    • Strong commercial awareness.
    • Knowledge of construction programmes.
    • Health & Safety qualifications.
    • Degree, HNC or HND in Construction Management or a related discipline.
