The Role:

  • Stock control and availability
  • Accurate application of MRP to avoid overspend and reduce stock holding
  • Ensure accuracy of delivery dates, and effectively report the status of backorder parts
  • Monitor MOQs and MOLs with user departments
  • Arrange carriage and transport of inbound goods
  • Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies and logging part non-conformances
  • Major focus on BOM and Aluminium including all planning and ordering in line with production planning
  • Commercial Management
  • Negotiate with suppliers for best possible conclusions including contracts, service agreements and other added value benefits
  • Monitor and report on price increases and decreases
  • Investigate and action cost reduction and commercial benefits opportunities
  • Supplier performance management and new supplier evaluations

General Duties:

  • Working on RFQs for over 10K projects
  • Support internally with adhoc pricing enquiries
  • Internal customer support for all departments, sourcing products or services as required
  • Management of Brexit implications
  • Manage services such as cleaning, energy, vending machines, gases and laundry
  • Working with QA on Supplier Relations
  • Working with Brammer in site team to achieve best possible prices on MRO goods
  • Support the MEA council in set up and trials of Buy Supply NI Portal
  • General departmental duties including the receipt of Aluminium and BOM
  • Training on Sage for user departments
  • Participate in information sharing, team working and continuous improvement programmes
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Comply with all Company health and safety, quality and environmental standards

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Grade A-C (to include English and Maths)
  • IT literate, proficient in MS Office
  • General supply chain experience
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing/materials environment
  • Buying / Negotiating Experience
  • Stock management knowledge
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Teamwork skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification (e.g. 2 A Level Grades A-C, NVQ)
  • Level 3 certificate in Customs Compliance - CIPS
  • International-trade related knowledge
  • Experience of using Sage ERP
  • Familiar with the application of tariffs and duties
  • Understanding of commodity codes
