As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland's most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as a Warehouse Operations Manager in our Dargan Depot. The business is a 24-hour operation and shifts/work pattern will be agreed locally with manager 5 out of 7.

Role Purpose: The effective management of the depot with key responsibilities for all operational management tasks within a warehouse environment. To provide the best in class service to the retailer within economic constraints whilst maintaining good staff relations.

Role Scope: Responsible for ensuring that the operation is managed in such a way that all key performance indicators are achieved, and H&S guidelines are followed.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Organise, plan and manage the warehouse operation.
    • Manage the warehouse operation to the satisfaction of the Company whilst maintaining the required service levels within budgetary constraints and operational KPI targets.
    • Direct and motivate the line management team on meeting operational goals in an environment where customer satisfaction is critical, and we constantly strive for continuous improvement.
    • Manage key depot activities including performance, attendance management, quality and health and safety.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
    • Deliver all aspects of customer service including liaising with other departments and suppliers.
    • Best in class service to the retailer and consumer.
    • Ensuring the team maintain quality and accuracy in all tasks.
    • Customer focused and driven.
    • Promote our brands.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
    • Plan and drive the implementation and utilisation of all technology aids that may be provided.
    • Proactively work with the depot management team to improve overall efficiencies in the warehouse.
    • Facilitate an engaging and inclusive environment to generate ideas and solve problems in a fast-moving environment.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within current processes using lean methodology.
  • EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
    • Manage and lead the team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve objectives.
    • Ensure appropriate performance review, development and succession management systems are operating effectively.
    • Set team objectives and targets and monitor performance.
    • Lead by example ensuring effective communication, support and recognition structures.
    • Actively seek feedback from depot communication forums.
    • Identify, develop and retain talent.
    • Ensure effective two-way communication.
    • Promote Sports and Social events.
    • Take the lead on all IR/TU matters.
  • HEALTH & SAFETY
    • Under the 2005 Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, managers are responsible for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of their staff.
    • Maintain focus on Employee Welfare, Health & Safety, HACCP, Hygiene and Housekeeping.
    • Promote a best in class health and safety culture.
    • Ensure safety, health and welfare at work.
    • Prevent improper conduct likely to endanger employees.
    • Implement safety measures necessary for protection of employees.
    • Participate in network health and safety focus groups.
    • Ensure accidents are investigated and corrective actions implemented.
  • FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY
    • Protect the safety of food products while stored and transported.
    • Maintain continuous focus on Food Safety & Quality.
    • Direct and motivate line managers regarding product safety and quality.
    • Prevent contamination and ensure products are stored and transported safely.
    • Lead implementation of food safety and quality measures.
    • Ensure teams are trained and competent.
    • Promote Best in Class Food Safety Culture.
    • Communicate product and process changes to the FS&Q Co-ordinator.
    • Provide input to Food Safety KPIs.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Primary: Operations Managers, Line Management Team, Depot Managers, Operatives, Administrators, Retailers, HR, Facilities and Health & Safety, Food Safety & Quality Co-ordinator.

Secondary: Transport Management, Retail Service Centre, Supply Chain Network, Suppliers, Contractors.
