Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established construction wholesaler based in Belfast to recruit a Trade Counter Salesperson on a temporary to permanent basis.

The Role

As a Trade Counter Salesperson, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service while supporting the day-to-day running of the trade counter. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong customer-facing experience and an interest in construction products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving customers at the trade counter and handling enquiries
  • Providing product advice and recommending suitable materials
  • Processing sales orders and payments accurately
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring the counter area is well organised
  • Assisting with goods in/out when required
  • Building strong relationships with both new and existing customers

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good level of numeracy and attention to detail
  • Basic IT skills for processing orders and payments

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous trade counter or builders merchants experience
  • Knowledge of construction materials and products
  • Experience using EPOS or stock control systems
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
