About the Job
Reporting to the Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the company's accounts function:
- Prepare self-assessment personal and corporate tax returns for a varied client portfolio
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in line with best practice
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, with attention to detail
- Liaise with clients to gather information and respond to queries
- Support senior staff with tax planning and advisory work
- Assist with HMRC correspondence and enquiries
- Prepare and assist with VAT and Making Tax Digital (MTD) returns
Skills and Experience
- ATT or IATI qualified, or currently working towards qualification
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a tax or accounting technician role
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as CCH, Sage, or Xero is desirable
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to present clear and accurate information
- Able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- Team player with a proactive approach and willingness to take on new responsibilities
