About this role

Job Purpose

The Stores and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading the stores function and managing inter-site logistics and transport operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and timely flow of materials. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding service to operations, supporting production and business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Stores and Inventory Management
    • Lead and supervise a team of Stores Operatives, ensuring high performance, engagement, and adherence to standards
    • Manage goods receipt, storage, issuing, and dispatch activities
    • Ensure accurate inventory control, stock integrity, and cycle counting processes
    • Maintain optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted operations
    • Ensure all materials are correctly identified, stored, and handled in line with company procedures
  • Logistics and Transport Coordination
    • Plan and manage inter-site logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of materials
    • Coordinate internal and external transport providers
    • Monitor delivery schedules and resolve any logistics issues proactively
    • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations and company policies
  • Operational Support and cross Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Production, Procurement, Planning, and Quality teams to align material availability with operational requirements
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels, efficiency, and cost control
    • Act as a key point of contact for logistics and stores-related queries
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development of Stores Operatives
    • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team
    • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Health, Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure safe working practices are always adhered to
    • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
    • Support audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and implement process improvements within stores and logistics operations
    • Drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost-saving initiatives
    • Utilize KPI data to monitor performance and implement corrective actions
