The Role

The role of Settlements Analyst sits within the Operations & Asset Management function and is central to delivering real-time and near-time system and market operations on a 24/7 basis. As a Settlements Analyst, you will play a key role in operating settlement processes, ensuring timelines and KPIs are met in line with the Trading and Settlement Code. You will work collaboratively across teams, engaging with colleagues and market participants to support efficient, transparent and accurate market operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Team Lead in coordinating and managing day-to-day settlement processing activities
  • Provide subject matter and analytical expertise to resolve escalated operational issues
  • Investigate and respond to formal and general queries from market participants within agreed timelines
  • Monitor settlement activities to ensure compliance with procedures, codes and KPIs, acting as an escalation point where required
  • Collaborate with other Settlement Analysts to support business processes across settlement activities
  • Plan and coordinate tasks and projects to support settlement delivery and improvements
  • Identify recurring issues, update procedures, and contribute to process and documentation enhancements
  • Support the development, training and coaching of team members
  • Participate in testing activities within the Settlements function
  • Produce and maintain operational and market reports, including daily reports, and periodic internal/external reporting
  • In cases of significant material impact, make recommendations to management and support implementation of agreed actions

Essential Criteria

  • Third-level qualification (or equivalent) in Business, IT or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an administrative, operational, or business environment
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a regulated environment
