About the Role
We are seeking a Senior React Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a fully remote position, open to candidates based in Northern Ireland, where you will play a key role in designing and building modern, scalable web applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences while helping shape the technical direction of our frontend architecture. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning features end-to-end, mentoring other developers, and building performant applications using modern frameworks and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain modern web applications using React
- Develop scalable and maintainable frontend architectures
- Work closely with backend teams to integrate APIs and services
- Build performant and responsive UI components with strong attention to user experience
- Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions
- Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to improving engineering standards
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-impact features
- Participate in agile development processes and sprint planning
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
- Experience building production-scale frontend applications
- Proven experience developing applications deployed on AWS
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and frontend integration
- Experience with state management frameworks (Redux, Zustand, Context API, etc.)
- Solid understanding of performance optimisation and accessibility
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
- Experience with Git and collaborative code review practices
Desirable Experience
- Experience with server-side rendering
- Experience working with microservices architectures
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFront
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or DevOps practices
