Senior-level full stack, frontend, or backend TypeScript engineer (5+ years) with experience in React, Node.js, and AWS serverless stack. This role requires 3 days onsite in Belfast.
Who You'll Work For:
One of the world's largest financial market infrastructure businesses, this group is the leading interdealer broker globally by revenue and the number one Energy & Commodities broker in the world. Operating across 60+ offices in 27 countries with over 5,300 people, they're at the forefront of how global financial markets connect, price, and trade.
What You'll Be Doing:
The Fusion Platform is one of this organisation's most strategically important applications, consolidating multiple broker applications into a single, unified platform. This is a new team role open to strong full stack TypeScript engineers as well as frontend or backend specialists with solid exposure across both layers. Built in direct partnership with AWS, this is a genuinely greenfield engineering challenge: modern architecture, a highly technical team, and full ownership from design through to production on a platform used 24/5 by trading desks globally. Due to the complexity of the work and the collaborative nature of the team, 3 days onsite in Belfast is required.
Your Impact:
- Drive engineering improvements and communicate the principles behind your decisions to the broader team.
- Champion a well-defined SDLC, supporting planning, prioritisation, and delivery across the team.
- Lead estimation conversations by challenging requirements, drawing on experience, and fostering solutions.
- Shape system architecture discussions and help evolve services toward target-state design through refactoring.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features design, development, testing, and production deployment.
- Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, Architects, and Leads to ensure successful releases.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience in TypeScript (full stack, frontend, or backend).
- Front-end: proficient in React, Redux, React Query, HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind.
- Back-end: strong TypeScript (and/or C#/Java), RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets.
- Solid database knowledge across SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, AppSync) and Terraform.
- Microservices architecture and containerisation experience.
- Pub/Sub and messaging patterns (e.g. SOLACE/AMQP).
- CI/CD in enterprise environments; automated unit, integration, and e2e testing.
- Agile delivery team experience with tools like JIRA.
- Able to commit to 3 days onsite in Belfast.
Desirable:
- OOP/SOLID principles and demonstrable C# (.NET 8+) experience.
- Contribution to open-source projects.
- Knowledge of financial markets or OTC products.
What's In It For You:
- Up to £60,000 base salary.
- Hybrid working 3 days onsite in Belfast.
- Work directly alongside AWS engineers on a flagship platform build.
- Highly technical, small-team environment with genuine ownership and scope.
- Inclusive culture with active employee networks and development pathways.
- Greenfield platform build - something new, not maintain something old.
