An excellent opportunity has arisen for an R&D Engineer to join a well-established global manufacturer. Based in Newtownabbey and reporting to the R&D Manager, you will be part of a global product development team focused on designing and delivering next-generation products for international markets.

The Role:
- Design and develop innovative components and products, including conceptual sketches, 3D CAD models, detailed drawings and material selection.
- Work both independently and within a multidisciplinary R&D team to deliver functional, manufacturable design solutions.
- Support quality and functional testing of development concepts, analysing data and providing recommendations based on findings.
- Evaluate materials, prototypes and components through simulation and practical hands-on testing.
- Produce samples and working models, create rapid prototypes and coordinate the external manufacture of prototype tooling and components.
- Collaborate with Operations on sourcing, commissioning and optimisation of production equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process optimisation and design for manufacture.
The Person:
- Third level qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Design Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years' industrial experience in an R&D or Product Design role.
- Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
