A well-established and highly regarded Belfast law firm is seeking to appoint a talented Private Client Solicitor to join its expanding team. This is a growth-driven appointment within a busy and successful department that continues to see increasing instructions from wealth managers, accountants, tax advisers and other professional referrers. The successful candidate will join a supportive team environment, working closely with experienced Partners and benefiting from a strong pipeline of quality work.
The Role
- Handle a broad range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting wills (simple and complex), trusts and letters of wishes
- Advising on succession planning for individuals and business owners
- Estate administration (testate and intestate)
- Preparation of IHT205 and IHT400 returns
- Drafting estate accounts and advising on IHT, NRB and RNRB allowances
- Advising on Enduring Powers of Attorney and registration processes
- Controllership applications before the OCP and High Court
- Advisory work across high net worth and general private client matters
This role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to play an active part in strengthening relationships with professional referrers.
The Candidate
- Have 26 years PQE with solid experience in private client matters
- Possess strong technical ability in wills, trusts, estate administration and capacity law
- Can manage files with appropriate autonomy while working collaboratively within a team
- Are organised, proactive and commercially aware
- STEP qualification (completed or in progress) would be advantageous but is not essential.
