The Role

You will play a key role within the firm's payroll bureau, supporting a varied client portfolio and ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time. This position offers strong exposure to client-facing work, alongside the opportunity to develop wider practice experience over time.

What You Will Do

  • Administer payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Prepare and submit all employer reports in line with statutory requirements
  • Support the Payroll Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of the payroll bureau
  • Assist with additional client reporting requirements
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all work
  • Liaise with both internal teams and external clients to resolve queries
  • Support other areas of the firm where required, including ad hoc assignments
  • Gain exposure to bookkeeping and accounts work as your experience develops

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in practice or a payroll bureau environment
  • Experience of HSC payroll (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of payroll software
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
