A leading national law firm is seeking a junior Litigation Solicitor (NQ-2 PQE) to join its growing Belfast team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior solicitor to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment, working on a varied litigation caseload with strong opportunities for progression.
The role sits within a specialist disputes team handling a range of litigation matters, including property-related disputes, recovery actions and indemnity matters. The team acts for well-known insurer and commercial clients, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
The Role
- You will manage your own caseload of litigated and pre-litigation matters while working closely with experienced colleagues on more complex files.
- The role offers strong exposure to litigation strategy, client interaction and case management from an early stage.
- Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of litigation matters from inception through to resolution
- Drafting legal documentation, correspondence and court pleadings
- Developing clear litigation strategies and progressing matters efficiently
- Engaging with clients and maintaining strong working relationships
- Supporting senior colleagues on complex cases where required
- Ensuring matters are handled in line with client protocols and internal quality standards
About You
- You will ideally demonstrate:
- Strong interest in developing a career in litigation
- Previous litigation experience (during training or post-qualification)
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Experience in insurance, property damage or recovery work would be beneficial but is not essential, and the team is open to candidates from a range of litigation backgrounds.
