Nixon McQuade are working with a leading law firm who are seeking to appoint an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy litigation team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong legal secretarial experience who wants to work within a professional, well-established team handling a varied litigation caseload.

The role would suit someone who is confident with document production, diary management, client communication and providing day-to-day support to fee earners. The successful candidate will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support across a busy litigation department, working closely with solicitors and wider support teams.

The Role

  • Providing secretarial and administrative support to fee earners within a litigation team
  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents, correspondence and court papers
  • Audio typing and digital dictation
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings and assisting with deadlines
  • Opening, maintaining and closing client files
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, experts and other parties
  • Preparing bundles, briefs and documentation for hearings
  • Supporting with billing, file management and general administration
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within required timeframes

The Person

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal PA or Litigation Secretary
  • Strong typing and document production skills
  • Experience supporting litigation, insurance, defence, personal injury or general dispute resolution teams would be beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills and a professional manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy legal environment
  • Good IT skills and experience using case management systems
