Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Team Leader to take ownership of a complex, multi-region enterprise estate across EMEA. Reporting to the Director of Technology Infrastructure and Cyber Security, this role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical delivery. You'll lead a distributed engineering team, act as the senior escalation point for critical incidents, and play a key role in cloud transformation and infrastructure modernisation initiatives. This position operates primarily within EMEA hours and forms part of a global on-call escalation model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing, distributed infrastructure team
- Own service stability, availability and security across cloud and on-prem environments
- Act as senior technical escalation for major incidents and drive root cause improvements
- Deliver infrastructure transformation programmes (cloud, network, platform optimisation)
- Define standards, governance and operational best practice
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and contribute to investment planning
- Provide clear executive-level reporting on risk, performance and roadmap delivery
Experience:
- Proven infrastructure leadership experience within complex, multi-region environments
- Strong Azure and hybrid cloud expertise (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Deep Microsoft stack knowledge (Windows Server, AD, M365, Exchange, Intune, SCCM, Defender)
- Hands-on experience delivering secure, scalable enterprise platforms
- Experience leading cloud migrations and modernisation programmes
- Strong major incident and ITIL-based service management capability
- Confident engaging both technical teams and senior stakeholders
