We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time HR Generalist / HR Manager to join a growing organisation on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the full HR function, working closely with senior leadership to shape company culture, ensure compliance, and deliver a high-quality employee experience in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who has experience setting up or developing an HR department, including creating policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and ensuring GDPR compliance, with a strong understanding of Northern Ireland employment legislation.
Location: Belfast (fully office-based)
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week (part-time)
Key Responsibilities
- Full Employee Lifecycle: Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes
- Employee Relations: Provide expert advice to managers on disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management
- Policy & Compliance: Maintain and update the employee handbook; Ensure compliance with UK and NI employment legislation (including GDPR and Equality Act)
- Payroll & Benefits: Oversee or process monthly payroll; Manage employee benefits such as pensions and healthcare
- Strategic HR Support: Partner with leadership on workforce planning, talent strategy, and organisational change
- Training & Development: Identify skills gaps and coordinate relevant training initiatives
- Office Management: Oversee day-to-day office operations, facilities, and health & safety compliance
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a generalist HR role, preferably within an SME
- Qualifications: CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK/NI employment law; Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Experience using HR systems (e.g. BreatheHR, PeopleHR or similar)
