A Graduate Health and Safety Advisor supports the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems within an organisation. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates looking to develop practical experience in workplace safety, risk management, and compliance with legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Support
    • Assist in implementing company health and safety policies and procedures
    • Support compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act)
    • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation
  • Risk Assessment & Inspections
    • Help carry out risk assessments and identify potential hazards
    • Participate in site inspections and safety audits
    • Report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation
    • Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses
    • Help prepare reports and identify root causes
    • Support implementation of preventative measures
  • Training & Communication
    • Support delivery of safety inductions and toolbox talks
    • Assist in developing safety awareness campaigns
    • Communicate safety information to employees and contractors
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate H&S records and documentation
    • Assist in preparing reports for internal and external audits
    • Ensure policies and procedures are up to date

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable or willingness to obtain)
  • IT skills (Microsoft Office, reporting tools)

Typical Working Environment

  • Combination of office-based work and site visits (construction, manufacturing, or corporate settings)
  • May require travel between sites
