Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with a leading engineering consultancy delivering innovative solutions across the water, infrastructure and built environment sectors. As the business continues to expand its technical team in Belfast, they are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of 2 years' experience to support the delivery of a diverse range of ground engineering and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious geotechnical professional to develop their technical expertise, work on challenging projects and progress their career within a growing multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

Your new role as Geotechnical Engineer:

  • Working as part of an experienced geotechnical team, you will support the delivery of ground engineering solutions across a variety of infrastructure, commercial and development projects.
  • You will be responsible for:
    • Supporting the delivery of geotechnical assessments, investigations and design solutions
    • Preparing geotechnical reports, interpretive reports, specifications and technical documentation
    • Assisting with site investigations, ground modelling and interpretation of geological data
    • Undertaking geotechnical calculations including slope stability, foundations, retaining structures and earthworks assessments
    • Working collaboratively with civil, structural and environmental engineers across multidisciplinary projects
    • Supporting project delivery from initial feasibility through to detailed design and construction stages
    • Liaising with clients, contractors and project stakeholders to provide effective engineering solutions

What you will need to succeed as Geotechnical Engineer:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within a geotechnical consultancy or engineering environment
  • Experience supporting geotechnical design and assessment projects
  • A good understanding of soil mechanics, ground investigation and geotechnical principles
  • Experience with relevant geotechnical software packages would be advantageous
  • Strong technical ability with a proactive approach to problem solving and professional development
