We're looking for a highly organised, hands-on Despatch Manager to lead our busy despatch operation at our fast-paced bakery site. Every day, thousands of freshly baked products leave our bakery for customers across the region - and you'll be at the heart of making sure every order is accurate, on time, and delivered safely. This is a day shift role working Monday to Friday. If you thrive under pressure, enjoy leading people, and have a passion for operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead team performance, communication and development.
- Ensure an environment and culture of safe working practices.
- Leading and motivating a 24/7 despatch team to achieve outstanding performance.
- Managing the safe, accurate, and timely despatch of fresh bakery products.
- Coordinating daily vehicle loading and delivery schedules.
- Driving continuous improvements in productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
- Monitoring KPIs and implementing actions to improve operational performance.
- Working closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Developing team capability through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Manage operator efficiency rates through Warehouse Management System to meet business standards.
- Control Losses, Damage Date & pick accuracy to below weekly/period targets.
The Right Person Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience managing a despatch, warehouse, or logistics operation preferably within a FMCG environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- A quick thinker, capable of making logical decisions and operating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using warehouse management systems.
- Analytical skills with the ability to prepare & present reports to the senior management team.
