About the Role
We're offering a rare opportunity to join the UK's largest and most trusted telecoms provider, supporting critical emergency services that operate 24/7, 365 days a year. In this role, you'll be supporting 999/112 emergency calls, Directory Enquiries (118500), and Relay UK, helping ensure people get the right help when they need it most. This is not a standard call-handling role-it's a vital public service position where your calmness, accuracy and empathy can genuinely save lives. You'll work with people who may have communication difficulties, providing real-time voice-to-text support with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact during critical and emergency situations
- Accurately route callers to the appropriate emergency service
- Type real-time conversations with high speed and accuracy
- Remain calm, focused and empathetic under pressure
- Follow structured processes and protocols at all times
What We're Looking For
You'll thrive in this role if you can:

- Type at least 50 words per minute with 98% accuracy
- Work confidently as part of a 24/7 operational team
Shift Patterns
4-week rotating rota. Shifts scheduled between 10am to 9pm; 12pm to 11pm; or 2 week rotation of 8am to 7pm and 12pm to 11pm. Includes some weekend working and rest days designed to support a range of lifestyles.
Training
Full-time paid training: 37.5 hours per week for 4 weeks. Training may include mornings and evenings. 100% attendance required for the first 4 weeks.
