About Depaul:
Depaul is a cross-border charity supporting some of the most marginalised individuals, couples, and families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.
Role Overview:
The aim of the role is to support and signpost service users into services that will improve their housing, health, and wellbeing while enhancing their quality of life. This is achieved through engagement and individualised support plans, targeted interventions, signposting, and group work.
You will work proactively to form strong relationships and gain service users' trust, striving to provide the best possible service levels at all times. You will be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users, working to a housing-led, low threshold, harm reduction approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the effective day-to-day running of the service.
- Undertake daily reception and building management tasks.
- Support service users in their transition into the service.
- Assist key workers to deliver bespoke personalised support plans.
- Ensure the practical needs of our service users are met on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain service users' records and provide timely communication relating to them.
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are met within the service.
- Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, and record keeping.
- Remain vigilant to IT and cyber risks and comply with Depaul's IT Security policies.
- Participate in handovers, team meetings, core training, and mentoring of volunteers.
Qualifications:
- 3 GCSEs A-C to include Maths and English or equivalent.
Experience:
- 1 year paid relevant work experience or 2 years relevant volunteering experience.
Skills:
- Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes.
- Good IT skills, including using IT systems to record client information.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of homelessness and the issues that can lead to it.
- Knowledge of supports available in homeless services.
- Familiarity with statutory and voluntary sector resources for people experiencing homelessness.
- Understanding of Health and Safety standards in service delivery.
Circumstances:
- Ability to work on a rota basis (7-day week mornings, evenings, weekends, and waking nights).
