Honeycomb is delighted to partner exclusively with a long-established Northern Ireland bank in the search for an AML/KYC Banking Analyst. This full-time, temporary ongoing position is based in Belfast and offers the opportunity to work within a reputable financial organisation focused on customer protection, risk management and robust regulatory standards. The role would suit candidates with experience in banking or financial services who are keen to build their expertise within financial crime prevention.

The client is a respected banking organisation with a strong presence across Northern Ireland and a clear commitment to high-quality customer service. Their teams work to protect both individual and business customers while upholding rigorous compliance standards. In this AML/KYC Banking Analyst position, you will support the bank's efforts to identify, manage and prevent financial crime while ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Working within an experienced team, you will review customer information, examine account activity and help maintain compliance with anti-money laundering requirements and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) to verify customer identities and assess risk.
  • Monitoring customer accounts for unusual or suspicious activity and escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Contacting customers to obtain follow up information and documentation.
  • Reviewing customer records to ensure information remains accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Managing and reviewing cases across a range of risk levels, from low to high risk.
  • Preparing and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with AML legislation, regulatory guidance and internal procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders to support financial crime investigations.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.

The Person

Essential Background gained in banking or financial services, ideally with direct customer interaction. Practical experience in AML/KYC activity, Customer Due Diligence checks or fraud review work. Clear and professional communication skills, with the judgement to manage confidential information appropriately. Comfortable working across ICT platforms, including regular use of Microsoft Excel. High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance competing deadlines.

  • Prior experience gained specifically within a banking setting.
  • Awareness of fraud controls and broader financial crime risk processes.
  • Experience supporting or reviewing accounts for corporate customers.
  • Familiarity with current AML legislation, guidance and accepted industry standards.

Package & Benefits

  • Hourly rate of £14
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working available once training is complete
