WineFlair is a leading retailer specialising in the sale of alcohol across Northern Ireland, with 58 stores and a new delivery service. We are committed to providing exceptional service and convenience to our customers, whether they visit our stores or have their orders delivered to their doorsteps. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team as Hybrid Courier /Sales Assistants to support the development and expansion of our new delivery service.

This position's primary role will require individuals to deliver customer orders, but you will also assist within our Stores, maximising your skills and duties.

Job Description:

As a Hybrid Driver/Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their orders on time and with excellent service, while also providing in-store support. You will be responsible for delivering products to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner, as well as contributing to the smooth operation of our retail stores when not on delivery runs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to: Store Manager / Area Manager
  • Delivery Operations:
    • Safely and accurately process, pack and secure delivery orders in store, complying with all Stock Movement procedures and safely transfer from store to van.
    • Safely and efficiently deliver customer orders from the WineFlair hub to customer addresses within a designated area.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all company and legal requirements for alcohol delivery, including verifying customer age and ensuring the safe transportation of products.
    • Follow all safety procedures to minimise the risk of accidents or damage.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Greet customers professionally upon arrival.
    • Provide clear and concise information about their order and assist with any immediate concerns or questions they might have.
  • Pre-Delivery Vehicle Checks:
    • Maintain a clean and organized company van, performing regular vehicle checks (e.g., fuel levels, tire pressure) and reporting any issues to management.
  • Route Planning:
    • Utilize GPS and route optimization tools to plan the most efficient delivery routes.
    • Adjust routes as necessary based on real-time traffic conditions, road closures, and other factors to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including completed and pending orders.
    • Report any issues or discrepancies in delivery logs to the Hub Manager.
  • In-Store Sales Assistance and Order Processing:
    • Receive and process online orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all items are correctly picked and prepared for delivery.
    • Accurately pick products from the store's inventory based on online orders, ensuring that the correct items and quantities are selected.
    • Package orders securely to prevent damage during transit.
    • Ensure that picked and prepared orders are ready in time for scheduled deliveries.
    • Handle any inquiries related to online orders, providing updates on delivery times or resolving any issues with orders.
    • Assist in managing inventory by updating stock levels after orders are picked.
  • Sales and Customer Service:
    • When not processing online orders, assist customers in-store by providing product recommendations, answering queries, and processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) system.
    • Assist in replenishing stock on shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring displays are neat and visually appealing.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all health, safety, and licensing regulations related to the sale of alcohol.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Carry out pre-delivery vehicle safety checks and ensure vehicles are adequately stocked with delivery supplies (e.g., hand sanitiser, PPE).
    • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and organized.
    • Follow all safety protocols while driving, including adhering to speed limits, using seat belts, and avoiding distractions.
    • Maintain a professional demeanour while representing WineFlair in the community.
    • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operations both in-store and during deliveries.
    • Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on company policies, legal requirements, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
    • Collect and document customer feedback on delivery services and in-store experiences.

    Requirements:

    • Essential:
      • Valid Driving License: Full and clean UK or Northern Ireland driving license. Must have no points in Licence. Must be out of R plate.
      • Own smartphone.
      • Driving Experience: Experience driving vans or similar vehicles for commercial purposes.
      • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
      • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the business.
      • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy items during deliveries and in-store stock handling.
      • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy when delivering orders and handling transactions in the store.
      • Basic IT Skills: Competence in using GPS devices, delivery tracking apps, and retail POS systems.
    • Desirable:
      • Previous experience in a delivery role, retail environment, or customer-facing position.
      • Knowledge of local routes and delivery areas around the hub stores (Bangor).
      • Familiarity with alcohol licensing laws and regulations.
