We are seeking a Senior Fabricator based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate pipework sections as per engineer drawings to the highest standard and quality.
- Identify fabrication defects and take corrective action promptly.
- Operate all workshop machinery and tools safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Prioritise workloads and assist supervisors in planning shop workflow.
- Provide technical guidance on pipe fit-up, material selection, and fabrication methods.
- Support continuous improvement and enhance turnaround times, quality and team performance.
- Mentor junior fabricators and pipefitters in correct fabrication techniques.
- Complete job cards & fabrication sheets.
- Report drawing errors, clashes, or missing information to supervisors or engineers.
- Maintain a tidy, well-organised work area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding, Pipefitting, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Forklift Licence.
- CSCS card.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- Essential 5+ years experience in pipe fabrication using carbon steel & stainless steel.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting their technical development within a fabrication environment.
- Experience working in an offsite workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of carbon steel and stainless-steel properties, including heat behaviour, contamination risks, and appropriate handling/storage.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices when using fabrication tools and equipment.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Senior or Lead Fabricator role.
- Strong background in manual pipe fitting.
- Previous senior or lead-level responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff or overseeing workflow.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
