Gordons Chemists is Northern Ireland's largest independent pharmacy chain with 55 stores throughout Northern Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Management team of a well-established leading Pharmacy Chain. The successful candidate will work closely with Buying, E-commerce, and Area Management teams.

Role Overview/Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all company marketing activities within the marketing department.
  • Develop, own, and execute the marketing strategy ensuring alignment across print, digital, email, and social media for the company, in line with company objectives.
  • Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing strategy and sales activities.
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns.
  • Oversee the company's marketing budget.
  • Track, analyse, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, social media content, and digital engagement.
  • Manage a small marketing support team.
  • Work closely with design agencies and external consultants on marketing campaigns when required.
  • Analyse potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness with the ability to align marketing activity to revenue objectives.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.
  • Other reasonable duties as required to fulfil the role and respond to changes in the market.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience working at a senior level within a marketing department.
  • A creative thinker with a passion for marketing, with a proven track record of developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Proficient in IT systems, including MS Packages.
  • Proficient with digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and social media management tools.
  • Strong background in both traditional and digital marketing strategies and techniques.
  • Strong social media and growing social trend awareness.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-driven and able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and people skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic and commercial awareness.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • Willingness to travel to all company sites when required.
  • Clean and valid driving licence and access to vehicle.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience at Marketing Manager level.
  • Experience in pharmacy, health, beauty, or retail sectors.
  • A degree in a Marketing, Digital Marketing, or business-related discipline.
  • A postgraduate diploma in a Marketing or business-related discipline.
  • A Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software.
  • Experience in managing a small team.

Hours: Full time/Permanent, working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week); however, given the senior level of the role you will be expected to fulfil all aspects of the role, which may result in working outside these core hours.

Compensation: The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary and additional benefits including staff discount, pension, and 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days.
