About the candidate

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (A-C or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment
  • Studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional accounting qualification
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Good Excel skills; experience with finance systems or ERP systems advantageous
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Key responsibilities include

  • Assisting with month-end duties and preparation of management accounts
  • Processing journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable activities where required
  • Assisting with budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Supporting audit preparation and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
