VANRATH have partnered with one of Northern Ireland's most established Heavy Vehicle Dealerships. The organisation is recruiting a Parts Controller (with estimating duties) position. This is a fantastic opportunity for any experienced individual to join a longstanding company that offers many routes for progression. The estimating element of the role can be taught, with full training provided, so applicants from a parts or bodyshop background are encouraged to apply.

Permanent role Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm & Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm. Place of work is Ballyclare. Salary negotiable + fantastic benefits, including a generous company pension scheme with strong employer contributions, health cash plan, 30 days holiday, holiday purchase scheme, death in service benefit, cycle to work scheme and reimbursement of gym/leisure centre membership.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out estimates for vehicle repair accurately and to a good standard of detail (most estimates are opinion based and training will be given).
  • Sending estimates to customers in a timely manner, then agreeing and gaining authorisation for repairs.
  • Providing updates to the team and customer on the current stage of the estimate.
  • Ordering and checking in parts for vehicle repair.
  • Allocating parts to the correct job within the Bodyshop.
  • Producing stock reports and conducting stock checks as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of job cards and invoicing as required.
  • Updating and processing any supplementary requests.
  • Planning your workload effectively to ensure vehicles are ready to agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring all tasks follow Health and Safety guidelines, including wearing provided PPE and keeping work areas clean and tidy.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by Bodyshop Management.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable technical experience of repairs within a Bodyshop environment (light or heavy vehicle) would be highly desirable.
  • Previous experience of liaising with insurance companies would be desirable.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to represent the business professionally with customers and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • A responsible and methodical attitude to work.
  • A willingness to undertake further development to benefit the role.
  • Insists on the highest quality of workmanship, and works with safety in mind at all times.
  • A full driving licence.
