Client: Our client is an award-winning Main Contractor that specialise in high end hotel and residential fitout projects. They work collaboratively with their clients to ensure efficient project delivery and minimum disruptions to operations. They have a flexible and innovative can-do approach which allows them to continually exceed client expectations and this has led to an enviable portfolio of repeat business.

Summary of Role: The M&E Manager will be the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing lead on a number of projects and report directly to the Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project documents from M&E perspective, advise on requirements/risks and suggest any changes
  • Management and Co-Ordination of design process with sub-contractors and client consultation team
  • Manage M&E elements of live projects and tenders
  • Manage and lead M&E subcontractors to provide support to the Project team on relevant projects
  • Liaise with tender and project teams to ensure design is developed in line with expectations
  • Ensure a programme is prepared and agreed with each designer, consultant and subcontractor responsible for M&E works
  • Ensure M&E design, installation and commissioning programmes are incorporated into the main programme
  • Monitoring progress of the works and updating the programme as necessary
  • Ensure works are managed in accordance with relevant H&S and quality procedures
  • Liaising with clients, designers, subcontractors and suppliers as and when required
  • Providing necessary information to the procurement team to enable the procurement of materials and/or subcontractors
  • Continuous site level assistance with all team members including our subcontract supply chain ensuring successful compliant delivery of each project
  • Successfully managing Testing and Commissioning of M&E elements in order to provide relevant handover documents
  • Communicate with the commercial and operational team to advise of progress and changes
  • To perform the role in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures
  • Adopt a Continuous Improvement approach to processes and practices
  • Contribute towards an overall company culture of sharing information and knowledge where there is a focus on solving issues as a team within a 'can-do' attitude and removing barriers to success

The Ideal Person:

  • Recent relevant significant experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrating your ability to meet the demands of this role
  • Have extensive knowledge of construction practices that can be used to analyse the design and propose potential cost saving measures
  • Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation for the construction industry
  • Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Office
  • Experience in leading and managing subcontractors
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to build relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment
  • A proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situations and duties
  • Continually seeking ways to improve, adapt and innovate while meeting compliance and commercial requirements
  • Experience of producing timely reports for Senior Management level
