VANRATH is delighted to be working with a well-established, independent logistics and distribution business to recruit an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver, based in Antrim. This is a permanent opportunity to join a busy, well-run transport operation supporting deliveries and collections right across Northern Ireland. The Role

  • Working as part of the transport team, your day to day will include:
  • Carrying out scheduled deliveries and collections across the region as directed
  • Safely loading and offloading goods, checking everything against the relevant delivery paperwork
  • Completing daily and weekly roadworthiness checks and flagging any issues promptly
  • Staying in regular contact with the transport office throughout your shift, making sure vehicles are fuelled, signed out and kept in good working order
  • Taking real care of every load passing through the depot and while in transit
  • Driving in full accordance with all road traffic legislation while on company business
  • Recording your working hours accurately on the company's time-management system
  • Keeping your vehicle clean and presentable, with a full wash completed at least once a week throughout the year
  • Following all health and safety, transport and warehouse policies at all times
  • Helping out with other reasonable duties as the operation requires

The Ideal Person

  • A current, clean HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
  • A valid Driver CPC qualification
  • Solid experience in multi-drop delivery work
  • Good working knowledge of towns, cities and routes throughout Northern Ireland
  • Manual handling training

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm (one hour lunch), with flexibility as the operation requires.
