Golf Ireland are now seeking a suitable candidate for the role of Project Coordinator (Ulster Region). This is a full-time permanent role reporting to Golf Ireland’s Regional Manager (Ulster), and will be based at Golf Ireland Regional Office, Forest Grove Business Park, Newtownbreda Road, Belfast BT 8 6AW.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Regional Manager to co-ordinate relevant activities including preparation and delivery of championships & inter-club competitions.
- Point of contact for the Volunteer Information Portal in Ulster.
- Assist the existing team with the delivery of participation, golf development and club support initiatives including golf in the community sessions and golf sixes.
- Establish positive relationships with volunteers in the Regional Executive Committee and its Sub Committees.
- Preparation of meetings and materials of the subcommittees and REC.
- Co-ordinating REC and subcommittee activity.
- Assist with the management and communications of the volunteer roster.
- Ensure volunteers are up to date with safeguarding.
- Preparation and delivery of school’s golf competitions.
- Assisting in the delivery of events regionally and nationally, particularly those targeted at female golfers and players with disability.
- Delivery of programmes aimed at introduction of the sport to Primary & Secondary School pupils.
- Collecting all cups/trophies for upcoming year and organising engraving.
- Preparation of vouchers, branding, radios and starters notes for championships.
- Compilation of Ulster Regional Newsletters.
- Answering emails/calls.
- Liaise with the Golf Ireland Regional Offices in Connacht, Leinster and Munster on shared objectives for the delivery of Golf Ireland’s strategy and policies at grassroots level.
- Liaise with Development & Club Support Director to assist with development other staff is carrying out that department’ objectives in Ulster.
About the Candidate:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong administration and IT skills.
- Proven ability to deliver sporting activities is essential.
- Experience working with Volunteers.
- A deep and broad understanding of the golfing landscape within Ireland.
- Calm, confident, decisive and objective.
- Willing to be accountable and measured on performance.
- Able to prioritise, multi-task and problem-solve.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Copes well with continual change and tight deadlines.
- Able to provide clear, informative and relevant information to the Regional Manager as required.
