Part of the Global Mobility team and responsible for supporting the Head of Senior Reward, Resourcing and Mobility with effectively managing the Global Mobility, policies, processes and controls across Europe and our global operations. The role holder will be responsible for supporting the establishment, implementation and management of a framework for Global Mobility that ensures:

  • effective and regulatory compliant policies, processes and controls are in place supported by People Strategy (PS)/HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs);
  • the globally mobile population are supported by PS, HR and Tax and understand their obligations;
  • the role holder will track ongoing compliance with all jurisdictional tax laws in partnership with internal and external tax advisors;
  • the colleague experience is front and centre of processes and policies that are implemented and managed to ensure that the policies and processes we have in place facilitate talent mobility as the organisation grows.

What will you be doing:

  • Support the design and development of Global Mobility policies, processes and standards for the UK and Europe. Develop new policies where necessary or update existing policies, processes, and controls to ensure that they are robust, documented and ensure CL and the globally mobile population act within the local tax and regulatory rules and obligations.
  • Work closely with colleagues in PS, HR and Tax across Europe and North America to ensure that global mobility issues are identified, resolved and each case is individually managed. Provide an aligned view on each global mobility case and ensure the approach meets all jurisdictional obligations.
  • Collaborate across the UK and European Reward teams on approach to remuneration and tracking of globally mobile colleagues and impact on their compensation.
  • Take a leading role in upskilling PS/HR colleagues across UK and Europe to ensure that we effectively support and manage our globally mobile population with accountability across teams clearly understood.
  • Facilitate effective onboarding including understanding costs up-front and ensuring obligations are met. Respond to ad hoc queries from the PS/HR team and across the wider business.
  • Close working with the European payroll teams is required to ensure compensation is correctly processed.
  • Support the management of the relationship with third party Global Mobility providers, ensuring that we maximise the contract value and ensure we recharge effectively across all jurisdictions.
  • Regular check-ins with third parties are required including a monthly review of our global population and outstanding tasks. This also includes reviewing the Global Mobility annual budget with the UK Finance team to ensure we are in line with our forecasted target for the year, keeping in mind charges which may arise during the year.
  • Support the development of guidelines for, and monitoring and reporting of, business travellers to and from Europe locations including the Short-Term Business Visitors (STBVs) UK annual submission.
  • Provide the PS/HR teams with advice on best practice global mobility approach ensuring compliance, risk management and a positive colleague experience.
  • Provide advice on remote working queries and exception requests as required. Understanding the implications of these exceptions and clearly outlining what can and cannot be done whilst remote working / business travel.
  • Daily management and first line responder of the Global Mobility mailbox ensuring all Global queries are directed and responded to in an appropriate timeframe. This includes understanding priorities and regulatory deadlines we have to comply with (set out in our annual Global Mobility Calendar).

What Experience will you have for the position:

  • Experience of Global Mobility practice, processes, and requirements.
  • Understanding of complex legal, regulatory and tax considerations that apply when developing or updating existing Global Mobility policies and processes.
  • Commercially minded and an understanding of the financial impacts of policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and provide clear and commercial advice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Relationship management skills / ability to network and maintain industry contacts.
