About the Role

Reporting to the VP of Product Management for Global Accountancy, you'll take ownership of the Tax Compliance product portfolio across all markets served by IRIS. While the UK remains our largest and most established market, your remit will extend globally, identifying growth opportunities, shaping product strategy, and ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of evolving regulatory requirements. This is a highly strategic leadership position. You'll lead and develop a team of Product Managers, Product Owners and Business Analysts, balancing deep customer understanding with commercial accountability and long-term vision. You'll work closely with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, Compliance and Commercial functions to deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define Global Product Strategy
    • Own the vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for the Tax Compliance portfolio.
    • Drive investment decisions based on customer needs, market opportunities and measurable business outcomes.
    • Build strong relationships with accounting firms, professional bodies and regulatory stakeholders.
    • Ensure regulatory change is translated into product innovation ahead of market demand.
  • Lead AI-Powered Product Innovation
    • Guide the team's adoption of AI-assisted and agentic product development practices.
    • Establish responsible AI standards for compliance-focused products where accuracy, transparency and trust are critical.
    • Evaluate and scale AI initiatives using clear performance metrics and customer outcomes.
  • Build and Develop High-Performing Teams
    • Recruit, mentor and develop a talented team of product professionals.
    • Create clear career pathways and build world-class product management capability.
    • Foster strong partnerships with Engineering, QA and Design leadership.
  • Stay Close to Customers
    • Spend meaningful time engaging directly with accountants, bookkeepers and businesses.
    • Lead customer discovery efforts and ensure product decisions are grounded in evidence and real-world feedback.
    • Monitor market, competitive and regulatory trends to maintain strategic focus.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a commercially minded product leader with a passion for solving complex customer problems and the credibility to influence at executive level. You'll bring:

  • Significant product management experience, including leadership of product teams and ownership of strategy and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in compliance software, regulatory technology, tax technology, financial software or similarly complex domains.
  • A strong track record of customer-led product development and strategic decision-making.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance, including areas such as Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT or broader regulatory requirements.
  • Experience delivering AI-powered product capabilities in a SaaS environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across senior leadership teams.
