Overview

We’re looking for a Performance Account Director to play a pivotal role across key client relationships, shaping multi-channel acquisition strategies for a portfolio of global brands. We’re looking for someone with deep tactical expertise who can operate at a strategic level, with the commercial acumen and gravitas to act as a trusted partner to senior client stakeholders. You should be comfortable being hands-on when needed, while also able to step back and drive the bigger picture to elevate both client and team performance.

You’ll lead full-funnel paid media scopes across B2C and B2B clients, owning top-line strategy, overseeing delivery, and driving account growth.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee delivery across accounts, ensuring timelines, priorities, and quality standards are met.
    • Lead multi-channel media planning and support execution across paid channels.
    • Guide and support the team in developing and activating data-led plans grounded in best practice.
    • Oversee analysis and reporting, ensuring insights are translated into clear, compelling narratives.
    • Maintain regular client communication (weekly calls, monthly check-ins, QBRs).
    • Improve processes and workflows to drive efficiency and impact.
    • Maintain visibility with senior leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strategic & Client Leadership
    • Own the strategic direction of accounts, aligning activity to broader business objectives.
    • Build and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
    • Confidently challenge client thinking and guide decision-making.
    • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Identify risks and growth opportunities, partnering with Business Lead to act on them.
  • Account Growth & Commercial Ownership
    • Own account commercial health, including scopes of work, forecasting, and resource utilisation.
    • Identify and drive growth opportunities across paid media and wider agency capabilities.
    • Ensure accounts are efficient, scalable, and profitable in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
    • Contribute to new business and pitches with performance expertise.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.
    • Ensure high-quality delivery aligned to strategy, stepping in to support with tactical activation where needed.
    • Line-manage at least one report, supporting development through coaching and feedback.
    • Contribute to team capability through new ideas, channels, technologies, and AI/automation.
  • Market & Industry Leadership
    • Bring a clear point of view on digital trends and performance marketing evolution.
    • Apply this perspective to strengthen strategy and add value to client partnerships.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior client leadership role within a performance marketing or digital agency.
  • Deep paid media expertise, with the ability to balance hands-on execution and strategic oversight.
  • Highly data-literate, with the ability to turn analysis into insight-led strategy and storytelling, translated into highly compelling presentations.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with credibility at senior stakeholder level.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and grow client relationships with minimal supervision.
  • Commercial acumen, including scope management and resource utilisation.
  • Strategic mindset, connecting channel performance to wider business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the full customer acquisition ecosystem (SEO, CRO, analytics, etc.).
  • Experience managing and developing at least one direct report.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously across multiple clients and priorities.
