About Us
Iris is a global integrated agency driven by one simple philosophy: Participate or Perish. We create ideas that earn attention and inspire people to interact with brands in meaningful ways. Working with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, we combine strategy, creativity, technology, and media to deliver impactful campaigns.
Overview
We are looking for an innovative and strategically minded Account Director to support in leading the global GEO strategy for a tier-1 global skincare giant. Enhancing the brand's visibility across key LLMs and Google search (including ChatGPT, Perplexity, AIO, AI Mode, and Gemini). Operating across a complex global landscape, you will spearhead a workstream focused on Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and holistic search visibility, both on-site and off-site, across 10 strategic global lead markets, ensuring clients' brands are consistently cited and mentioned in AI-powered search results for strategically important keywords and prompts. As AI transforms user behaviour, you will lead the pivot toward a modernised KPI framework that values offsite visibility and zero-click search dominance just as much as onsite engaged sessions. You will lead the strategic direction and long-term growth of this pivotal account by guiding senior client relationships, shaping multi-channel performance strategy, and empowering a global team to deliver outstanding results.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership (The Shift to GEO)
- Pioneer the AI Search Strategy: Shape the account's long-term strategic direction by defining top-line objectives that bridge traditional informational SEO and cutting-edge GEO.
- Evolve KPI Frameworks: Guide the client through the transition from purely on-site metrics (engaged sessions) to broader off-site visibility metrics, ensuring strategy aligns with the reality of rising zero-click, LLM-driven searches.
- Performance Oversight: Monitor the team’s execution of content and technical strategies across projects. Step in at the right moments to ensure we are targeting the right user intents and maximising brand presence across both traditional SERPs and AI search engines.
- Strategic Advisorship: Build trusted relationships with senior global and regional client stakeholders. Act as an authoritative voice who can challenge legacy thinking, handle disagreements constructively, and guide the client confidently into the new era of search.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identify risks, performance shifts, or local market concerns early. Resolve them with clear thinking, diplomacy, and solutions-focused leadership.
- Testing & Scaling Growth: Define and test new GEO and mid/lower-funnel visibility tactics in the 10 lead markets. Identify successful initiatives and architect the framework to scale these learnings across the client’s broader global footprint.
- Expand Strategic Support: Proactively spot opportunities to grow the account through expanded channels, AI-focused content initiatives, or broader strategic consultancy.
- Profitability & Operations: Support in managing SOW creation, accurate billing, global retainer utilisation, and rigorous scope management to ensure profitability and operational efficiency across multiple regions.
- Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, allocate, and inspire a team of search specialists. Ensure high-quality delivery while fostering a motivated, collaborative environment.
- Upskill on AI Trends: Support career growth by guiding your team through the evolving search landscape, ensuring they are well-versed in GEO, LLM behaviour, and modern content strategies.
- Global Project Management: Oversee project delivery across multiple international markets. Ensure timelines, local market priorities, and key milestones are managed effectively while maintaining visibility with agency and client leadership.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Bring big-picture thinking around AI digital trends (e.g., SGE, ChatGPT search, Perplexity), beauty/skincare consumer challenges, and the evolution of performance marketing to continuously strengthen the client partnership.
